Woodchester Valley is a beautiful property, situated in the Cotswolds, 15 miles west of Cirencester, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The winery was established in 2007 by Fiona and Niall Shiner and there are now 18 hectares of mainly South facing, steep vineyards, on limestone soils. The fruit is all hand picked and then lightly pressed with a slow, cool fermentation to preserve the aromatics and fruit characteristics of the cool climate, still wines. All wines are suitable for vegans.
The Rosé is made from 100% Pinot Noir and is a delicate pink, with lovely bright, summer red fruits. This wine is a triumph and a clear dividend from the wonderful hot 2018 summer that we all enjoyed.
Culver Hill is a blend of Ortega, Seyval Blanc, Bacchus and Pinot Gris. This dry wine is an intriguing blend of stone fruits and a delicate hint of minerality. The Bacchus, Ortega and Pinot Gris grapes are whole bunch pressed and 50% of the Ortega is oak barrel fermented.
The Bacchus is aromatic yet dry and offers complex flavours of zesty citrus and gooseberry, subtle lychee and pineapple, with a distinctive elderflower aroma.
